Lola T430 HU3 Formula 5000
This car was Brian Redman's 5000 car that was prepared by the Lola-Hass
racing team in "76" The car was never raced by him in that
season as the 5000 series fell apart that year. Unfortunately he never
got the chance to try the car out in full race conditions but he did
put the car on pole but at the last minute opted to race his Lola 332.
This car happens to be the last Formula 5000 race car to be made by
Lola and is only 1 of 3 that were ever built. Two went to team VDS in
Australia and one went to Lola-Hass.
The car was then turned into a Can-am car for the early eighties but
very soon after was put in storage for some 20 years and not raced at
all. I found the car in St Louis 2001 and then proceeded to rebuild
the car to it's former glory. The first time the car ran as a 5000 car
it raced in Sandown raceway in Australia and succeeded to win 2 races
to 2nd in two others. The car is part of the 2003-2004 Tasman revival
series being run in New Zealand and Australia over a 5 round series
and also hope's to contend in some of the Force 5000 series in the UK
and Europe over 2005.
